Meryl’s resources career spans 33 years across many varied positions, commencing in mining, followed by exploration, land management, resource analysis and business development, resulting in her multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary understanding of the industry.
At St Barbara, Meryl advises on investment strategy and business development from early exploration to advanced stage resources projects. Her skills and experience run the length of the mining value chain, with an emphasis on high level technical and financial analysis and due diligence, exploration and development strategy and business sustainability. Meryl is well known for translating her in-depth industry knowledge into effective solutions to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
Meryl is highly regarded for her enthusiastic work promoting the resources industry to students, demonstrated as the Founder and Patron of Get Into Resources Inc; Executive Director and Vice Chair of Earth Science Western Australia and as a Member of the Governing Council of North Metropolitan TAFE. Meryl also has a particular interest in the attraction, retention and advancement of women in the sector and works hard to inspire change through advocacy, leadership and mentoring.
In addition to an Honours degree in Geology, Meryl holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
